Amanda Brugel

Brugel is the only Canadian actor in Season 1 and was barely watched. Then, in Season 2, she became a regular cast member and is still part of it today. As she discussed her role as well as the parallels to her reality, Brugel may be able to relate to the racism and injustices she's experienced in different areas of her life. She stated: "I lean heavily on race and, like I mentioned, I have had past experiences where I felt like I was treated like an inhumane slave simply because I am african-American." While I've never had physical assault due to the color of my skin, I certainly received verbal abuse. On the show I'll resort to any form of racial slurs or racist epithets that make me feel like someone has hit me. "I utilize this sensation almost in every scene, because it's like receiving a punch at minimum during every scene."
